Robb Smith

General Counsel/CPO

Robb Smith is general counsel and chief privacy officer for North American Bancard, LLC, a multi-faceted payment solutions provider dedicated to delivering premier payments technology with the highest level of customer service. In his role, Smith is responsible for overseeing all legal affairs of the company including its subsidiaries and affiliated companies. Additionally, he provides counsel with respect to the development and implementation of company privacy policies and advises the company with respect to applicable privacy-related laws and regulations.

Smith joined North American Bancard after approximately five years with Harman International Industries, Incorporated. He most recently served as director, senior counsel, where Smith was responsible for advising and counseling Harman’s North American automotive business units. Prior to this role, Smith served as corporate counsel to Harman’s Lifestyle Division.

Before his career with Harman, Smith was associated with the law firm of Clark Hill PLC, in the firm’s Detroit office. During Smith’s six years with the firm he provided counseling and support to a wide range of clients in a variety of industries. His areas of expertise included: mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance, commercial transactions and general corporate representation.

Smith earned his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics and Management from Albion College through the Carl A. Gerstacker Institute for Business and Management. He went on to receive his juris doctorate degree from Michigan State University College of Law.
